Hurricane season is here (June 1 – Nov. 30) and with it are more predictions of high storm activity. We heard the same thing last year and did not see a single hurricane come our way. So this year will be interesting as once again we wait and see what the Lord brings our way. He and He alone knows which systems will do what, when and where and so we trust in His sovereignty and make sure that we are prepared.

We are solidifying our evacuation plans at SGF so we have a unified exit strategy in the case of another major hit. Please pray that we have wisdom in our planning and focused diligence in following through. We plan to locate a church within a few hours drive where we can seek refuge so that we do not have to spend money on hotel rooms for the ten people who live at the church.

We also plan to be ready for instant relief work if the need arises from a second storm approach by bringing our main tools and supplies with us. It is our hope and prayer that through this we will be better able to serve our community more effectively.

To Him be the glory and may His Word of reconciliation be preached in and out of season.
