Welcome 2008!

28 January 2008 | Evangelism, Under Construction

Unbelievable! It’s already the end of January 2008. It’s been a busy month here at Sovereign Grace Fellowship and we have lots to share.

This month we hosted volunteers from Harvest Bible Church of Dekalb, IL.

The volunteer team, lead by Pastor Steve Best included Jeff B., Bob F., and Suzanne M.

We kept them busy on the following projects:

France Street Renovation – 9th Ward New Orleans 8-plex rebuilding

Relief Center Construction – SGHM’s building

SGF Worship Area Remodel – Tear out of old paneling and installing new drywall

SGF Kitchen Remodel - Upgrading cabinets, new counter tops and sink

We want to send out our most sincere THANKS for all of their hard work.

Additionally, in January, we welcomed a new member to our church. Emily Kirkpatrick will be staying with us in 2008 as a Homeland Missions Volunteer. We are excited to have her and if you visit, she will be easy to spot as she always has a bright smile on her face. She will be assisting the administrative team with planning and organizing. Emily we are soooo glad to have you!!!

We also want to make sure to mention the hard work of John and Steve Kirkpatrick who have been with Sovereign Grace Fellowship for a few years now; originally coming her to work as part of a relief crew. John and Steve have selflessly dedicated themselves to serving our replant and missions efforts and are anxious to help us transition into the launching of the freshman class of our Master’s Workshop program (click here to learn more about this project).

We are looking forward to being joined in February by a volunteer crew of 7 led by Ben DenHouter of Campus Chapel from Ann Arbor, Michigan. The crew will be helping on the France Street Renovation, Relief Center Construction and other important projects around the church.
