Relief Center Roadblocks

relief-center-building-frontIt’s been a long haul. To be sure, if we were more prodigious in songwriting we’d be writing the Relief Center blues at this point in our construction.  This building started out as a storage project.  Several churches asked us what we planned to do with ‘all that stuff’.

Well, that ’stuff’ was the result of the love of thousands of saints and citizens who donated items to our ministry.  In fact, the initial wave of Katrina assistance was so massive that it took up about 65% of our church building.  So, in an attempt to help us deal with this great need, two main churches began to fund and help us build a 1200 sq ft ’shed’.

Another major hold has been that in order to help others with their homes we had to put our ’shed’ project on hold.  However, it is good to report that the fixtures are being installed and the smoke detectors wired up and the final inspection permitting process is about to roll.

We pray that we pass so we can be open to the public and legal all at the same time.
