Would you partner with us?

community4Calling all local believers!

Do you want a more active outreach to the poor and disadvantaged?  Do you lack funds, personnel, or space to get it done?  Do you worry that in this ministry the true gospel proclamation will be buried by a “social gospel”?

If you answered yes, we invite you to join us in this community ministry.

Before Katrina, we wanted to build a vibrant outreach but couldn’t clear these obstacles, either.  God solved that for us and we want to share our new facility with you.

After many years of hard work and great blessing, we are about to officially open Sovereign Grace Fellowship’s Homeland Missions Relief Center, located right next to our church building on Gause Boulevard. It is the hub and core of our community work, born out of God’s providence in Katrina’s destruction.

Our modest 1200-square-foot building houses administrative support offices, a food bank, shower facility and restrooms, donated clothing, and a washer and dryer to facilitate meeting the immediate needs of those looking for assistance.

Those requiring more long-term assistance are assessed in our counseling office and connected to the proper agencies, ministries and organizational resources for workable and lasting change. As charter members of NDRI and GNODRP we are able to provide access to multiple lines of resource.

This was given to us by God to use for His glory both to provide practical helps and to minister God’s Word to our community.

We are seeking local fellowships to join us in this vibrant community outreach. Your partnership would include any of the following:

  • Regular donations of food – food drives or pantry ‘hosting’.
  • Many organizations simply don’t have the space or manpower to handle many help requests. By partnering with us, you will have a full-time unpaid staff at your disposal.
  • Monthly funding for food purchases.
  • Donations of clothes or other items.
  • Supplying the Relief Center with volunteers.

Whether through evangelism or helping maintain our food supplies and clothing, we can provide your members with a real-time context to exercise their spiritual gifts.

To partner with us, or for more information, please call us at 985-643-8215, or email homeland@sgfellowship.org. We look forward to working with you.
