Neighborhood Plants
Neighborhoods in some ways are not neighborhoods any more. The eighties saw cable television and video rentals making nice social cocoons out of what was once lawn chair filled streets. The Internet’s explosion through the nineties, failed political policies and the rural family flight out of crime laden streets have fractured the now poverty stricken areas and deserted home pockets.
Add to this mix a major hurricane disaster and you have a good idea of what type of hybrid communities we now see in our tri-parish area. One of the ways we plan to help bring back wounded, dead and bleeding neighborhoods is by acquiring properties and homes and planting people in them.
Whether it is providing for affordable and clean living spaces or for accommodating bible studies and church gatherings, it is our desire to reclaim, renovate and renew structures and homes for good use.
If you have a home or property that you would like to donate to our cause please let us know. Or perhaps you’d like to invest in a neighborhood plant yourself.
We sit on the edge of a tremendous opportunity. Why not help?
