The Haglers’ home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in St. Bernard Parish.  Carla lives with Friedreich’s Ataxia and is permanently disabled. Their wheelchair accessible home done, but they need more help to complete minor projects since their funds have diminished.

Update

In November, 2009, local building authorities gave Shawn and Carla the good news they have been waiting for — a certificate of occupancy for their new home on Tranquility Road. This February, they passed their last inspection which allowed them to move completely into their new home, but there is some finish work to do before the house is fully done. Below is a list of what they still need. Please consider what you can do to help.

Immediate Needs

• Driveway pouring – Experienced labor.
• Final details – Touch-up painting and cleaning.
